Simplest way to obtain company size/number of employees and pass it into Salesforce
SOLVE
Hi,
I am trying to solve a tricky task.
We would like to know potential revenue out of leads we get in early stages. I wanted to use H. Intelligence but that is company record and our leads always start as contacts first before company record is created. So we are contact-based in HS(Hubspot) and more account-based in SF(Salesforce) in our system. We have it synced both ways.
The hardest part seems to be not getting the number of employees automatically (the first obstacle) but also
- passing this information to SF on the contact level?
- not to automatically create companies with the insights which leads to duplicates and sync issues if we get new contacts or companies in SF which then create new/duplicate contacts/companies in HS.
Currently, we don't use Deals records so it is not set up.
I am trying to find the easiest way to retrieve this company size as a precise number(whether with integration, code, or within platform) out of which we can estimate potential revenue as numerical value attached to each contact based on the size of the company they are employed at. We have the company name in most cases, first last name, and work email, but sometimes any of those can be missing/could be mistyped.
If there is an easier way to obtain, attach to related contact and pass to SF the number of employees of the company the contact is working at?
Just for the context, This is then used to calculate/create another automation to automatically create potential revenue of the company size information. I believe that is easier part.

HubSpot Insights provides this data for free. It's not always 100% accurate, but it's a GREAT place to start for initial lead scoring & routing.
Challenge > HubSpot Insights update many properties on the Company object, and you can't pick and choose which ones they update. You can see all of these properties here.
Companies integrating HubSpot with Salesforce should consider not using this setting as it may override data in your Salesforce account that you'd prefer not be updated.
A good way around that is to leave the setting on and either not map these properties to Salesforce or choose "Always use Salesforce" as your sync setting for the property.
Or - create a duplicate property as the property you use and use the HubSpot standard properties as a feeder for automations that then update your used properties (that are synced with Salesforce).

Hi @LCipka
As mentioned by @LaurenRyan you can sync the company property with Salesforce account property to pass these info (use prefer Salesforce option), though not 100% perfect.
Another option is to pass the revenue/employee size information to the Contact object and sync it with your Lead/Contact object in SFDC. You can use automation to copy the Company property value to the Contact property and sync it with SFDC Lead/Contact. There is no lead-to-account matching, but you can create an automation in SFDC with the Contact <> Account object to map these values. Not an optimal solution though.
Thanks.
The other alternative is to use other enrichment services and integrate that with Salesforce.
