How it started

Our adventure began in 2015 when we were invited to our friends' wedding aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship. Little did we know that this event would ignite a spark within us and lead us to explore the world of cruising in ways we had never imagined.

Before that experience, we had misconceptions about cruises—assuming they were boring and only for retirees. However, as soon as we stepped onboard that vessel, we were captivated by the enchanting world of cruising. From that moment on, we were determined to share our experiences with others, especially those who might be hesitant about taking their first cruise.

When we started our Cruise with Ben and David channel on YouTube, we noticed a lack of quality video content about cruising. So, armed with our iPhones and a strong desire to capture the essence of each journey, we began creating videos that showcased the incredible adventures and wonders of cruising.

The response to our videos was overwhelming, and our viewership quickly soared into the hundreds of thousands. People loved getting an authentic glimpse of what cruising truly entails and discovering the amazing possibilities that await them on a cruise holiday. The support and encouragement from our growing community of fellow cruise lovers around the world inspired us to keep creating more content.

How it’s going

In early 2020, we made a bold decision—Ben left his corporate job to become a full-time YouTuber, allowing us to dedicate even more time and passion to Cruise with Ben and David. Although 2020 brought unexpected challenges with cruise shutdowns, we were determined not to let our channel and followers down. We persevered, creating new content every week, and it paid off! Today, we are thrilled to have over 200,000 YouTube subscribers and 150,000 social media followers—a testament to the dedication and support of our wonderful community.

Our efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we are humbled to have been featured in prestigious publications and news outlets like The Washington Post, New York Times, and The Mail on Sunday. We've also appeared three times on BBC's "The One Show" and won the Favourite Cruise Blogger title at the Wave Awards twice.

In 2023, we proudly launched InsideCruise—a second YouTube channel aimed at providing top-notch tips and updates for our viewers. We believe that sharing knowledge and insights about cruising will help people make the most of their trips and create unforgettable memories.

Ben

Hello, I'm Ben, originally from Sunderland in North East England. I kick-started my career after studying at Sunderland University by becoming a camera operator for broadcasting networks like the BBC and Discovery Channel.

Beyond my passion for video production, I hold a deep love for photography. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to showcase my photography skills for reputable organizations like the BBC, Princess Cruises and various newspapers worldwide.

What truly captivates me about cruising are the incredible destinations we get to explore.

Speaking of favorites, Alaska holds a special place in my heart. The breathtaking beauty of its rugged landscapes, magnificent glaciers, and abundant wildlife makes it an unparalleled cruising experience.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share our cruise adventures with you all on our Cruise with Ben and David channel. Combining my love for video production, photography, and cruising has been a dream come true, and I hope our content continues to inspire and entertain you as we explore new horizons together!

David

Hi there! I'm David, and I grew up in Hull, Yorkshire. Later on, I moved to Sunderland to study Media Production at university. Alongside Digital Design, I also delved into Radio Production and co-hosted a weekly radio show on local radio.

Back on dry land, you'll find me working as the Senior Developer at a digital media company in London. Additionally, I work as a freelance graphic designer, collaborating with a diverse range of clients, from local businesses to independent movie studios.

My favorite part about traveling is that magical moment when the cruise ship sets sail. There's simply no feeling like it! Out of all the incredible places I've been lucky enough to visit, the Norwegian Fjords hold a special place in my heart. The stunning views and enchanting port calls make it an unforgettable experience.

I'm truly passionate about cruising and sharing our adventures with all of you on our Cruise with Ben and David channel. Thanks for being a part of our journey, and I hope our videos continue to inspire and entertain you!
